What is it? Well, it’s a great way to get into alpacas, even if you cannot purchase one right now. And it’s affordable, making it a great gift to yourself or that animal lover
We offer three adoption levels – Basic, Naming & Adopting of a cria as well as Involved, depending on how far you would like to take it.
What are you waiting for? Select one of our alpacas on the farm and become his or her adopter for one full year. For those of you who like surprises, you can also adopt the unborn cria of one of our pregnant alpacas. You won’t know what you are adopting until the cria is born. And even better, you can also adopt one of our newborn crias and give it a name!
How to apply: Select an Adoption level above, and read the corresponding Adoption description so that you understand what is involved in which level of the program. Select on option. Upon receipt of payment, we will email you a download link for the Alpaca Adoption Registration form. Have a look here at alpacas available for adoption, fill in the form and email it back to us.
Give us 3-5 days to take the picture and get a fleece sample of your adopted alpaca and complete the documentation. Once your Adoption Package is prepared we will courier it to you (within South Africa) or send it by email (overseas). You are of course also welcome to pick up your Adoption Package and meet your new charge!

Disclaimer: This Adoption Program does not denote ownership of the alpaca but only entitles you to the above-listed benefits. The Alpaca Loom retains ownership and the alpaca remains on our farm. If the alpaca is sold during your adoption period, you will be able to select another alpaca. The sponsorship will last for 12 months. At the end of the adoption period you have the option of renewing with your current alpaca or you may select another adoptee. Multiple adoptions of the same alpaca will be allowed, but the animal will not be renamed. All proceeds go towards the care of your adopted alpaca and are non-refundable.
